The Perfect English Country House Venue – Washingborough Hall

Country style weddings raise the pulse of many a bride-to-be, whether she’s a rural chic or city slicker. When it comes to the ‘Dream Day’, many cannot help but be beguiled by the ambience, style and elegance that a country house wedding conjures up. If Washingborough Hall was patisserie, this pretty country house would be a mini rhubarb macaroon – a deliciously sweet gem of a venue, perfectly proportioned, with effortless good taste and yet not too ‘over-the-top’!

Country-themes here can be personalised to the wishes of the bride-to-be, whether she favours rustic-luxe, shabby chic or classically elegant styling, this venue will deliver. Its idyllic setting, only a bouquet’s thrown from the parish church through a secret wooden door in the garden, will suit traditionalists, or there’s the option to hold both ceremony and reception within its Georgian gorgeousness.

Talking of ceremonies, recently extended, although you wouldn’t immediately tell as it’s all very tastefully done, the hotel has enhanced its facilities with the fabulously stylish ‘Winston Room’ now able to accommodate up to 120 guests.

Each wedding at Washingborough Hall is exclusive use, but not all guests will be able to stay over, as this cute hotel has only 11 bedrooms, and with three as master suites – two of which boast four-poster beds, couples will be hard-pressed to know which of the beautiful suites to opt for on their first night of nuptials.

Outdoors, white doves nest in their dovecote within pretty walled gardens, perfectly manicured lawns (to make Dad green with envy), swathes of English lavender (the best fragrance!) and a picturesque teak Pavilion, perfect for those all-important stylish photographs……..I almost forgot to mention the best assets of all.

Lucy Herring and Amy Thorne – Hotel owner and Director of Romance respectively; they are simply the best, think big sister/best friend/Wedding Planner – all rolled into one….with Washingborough Hall you really cannot go wrong!   01522 790 340
